About The Position

Cameron House is a 150-year-old institution deeply woven into San Francisco history, proudly serving the evolving needs of the San Francisco Chinese community. Cameron House is a hub of year-round programs and services, including a heritage youth school, adult ESL and computer classes, counseling services in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, domestic violence intervention, and case management for accessing community resources for low to moderate-income individuals and families. Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Office Administration, Communications, or related fields
  • At least one (1) year of experience in administrative role or with project management
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience working with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel,Powerpoint), and Zoom
  • Bi-lingual/Bi-literate in English and Cantonese a must
  • Good writing and verbal skills, able to communicate information and ideas clearly so others understand you
  • Enjoys working with children, helping them learn and develop.
  • Possesses a positive and professional attitude, regardless of the task at hand
  • Knows how to work on a computer, and learn new computer programs quickly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
  • Capable of solving problems with sound judgment and practical approaches - solution-oriented
  • Achieve satisfactory clearance from the Department of Justice via Live Scan
  • Undergo a screening for tuberculosis
  • Complete a Sexual Harassment Prevention training

Nice To Haves

  • Additional fluency in Mandarin is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative support: Facilitate verbal and written communications in Cantonese and/or Mandarin. Maintaining attendance records; updating, delivering and distributing documents; updating website pages; and generating reports.
  • Administer attendance records for all youth programs in Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Regularly generate reports summarizing enrollment, demographics, and attendance and prepare draft reports for the Director’s submission to grant funders (including Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF).
  • Update youth program pages on our website in coordination with the Marketing & Development Department.
  • Provide data analysis of engagement and other metrics.
  • Work with Supervisor in creating or updating youth online/written registration forms and assist families with registration.
  • Coordinate staff/volunteer intake and onboarding documents (e.g., mandated requirements, certifications upon hiring, alerting Supervisor of upcoming certification expirations).
  • Help prepare and distribute documents and communications.
  • Supports facilities with opening/closing the building, helping with supply inventories, security checks, and distributing snacks/lunches.
  • Conduct a security check throughout/end of the day.
  • Monitors, supports and helps lead youth during various activities: Supervise youth in the yard, classrooms, and during activities.
  • Facilitate and/or assist with lessons and activities.
  • Work as a substitute teacher in the classroom, as needed.
  • Assist staff with activities and projects.
  • Periodically supervise individual youth waiting for pick-up by parents and caregivers.
  • Work in partnership with the Programs Administrative Coordinator supporting front desk reception duties.
  • Respond to and direct all telephone and emails that come through the main Cameron House telephone line and email account in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Greet visitors in a professional, courteous, respectful, and sensitive manner.
  • Provide visitors information about the organization’s history, programs, services, and general operations; help visitors understand what our organization does.
  • Perform intake and determine client’s eligibility for services and community resources; provide appropriate referrals for internal and external support.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and provide culturally appropriate services to diverse populations; and use sound judgment and discretion in handling requests for appointments and telephone calls.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, safe, and tidy environment at the front entrance foyer area; manage the activity in this area.
  • Take appropriate actions and follow protocols if/when an emergency arises.
