About The Position

Kentucky River Community Care is seeking a Youth Peer Support Specialist for their Perry County Sapling Center. This is a Regular Full-Time position with a pay rate of $12.00 per hour. The role involves using personal experiences to teach clients, serving as a role model, encouraging client involvement in treatment planning, supporting clients during mental health services, empowering them to be self-advocates, and helping them enhance relationships with community partners.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age but no older than thirty-five (35).
• Receiving or have received at least one (1) child serving agency or a state funded service that is related to youth's emotional, social, behavioral, or substance use disability.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• KFLA training
• Demonstrate leadership and advocacy in the field of behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Use relevant personal stories to teach through experience.
• Serve as a role model for clients.
• Encourage client voice and choice during development and implementation of treatment planning.
• Support clients while receiving mental health services.
