About The Position
Position: Youth Peer Support Specialist Company/Location: Kentucky River Community Care/Perry County Sapling Center Employment type: Regular Full-Time
Requirements
- must be at least eighteen (18) years of age but no older than thirty-five (35)
- receiving or have received at least one (1) child serving agency or a state funded service that is related to youth's emotional, social, behavioral, or substance use disability.
- high school diploma or equivalent
- KFLA training
- demonstrate leadership and advocacy in the field of behavioral health.
Responsibilities
- Use relevant personal stories to teach through experience.
- Serve as a role model for clients.
- Encourage client voice and choice during development and implementation of treatment planning.
- Support clients while receiving mental health services.
- Empower clients to be self-advocates.
- Help clients enhance relationships with community partners.
