About The Position

North Ridge Church (NRC) is seeking a Youth Pastor for Middle and High School students. The church is a growing, multi-generational, multi-ethnic fellowship with a long history of investing in its youth. The youth ministry aims to teach students how to seek God's face and share His love, partnering with families in discipleship to build them up as the body of Christ and equip them for Kingdom impact. There is also a strong sense of opportunity to reach lost and hurting young people in the city. The Youth Pastor is called, equipped, and enthusiastic to serve middle and high school students, helping to lead them into manhood and womanhood in Christ. This role supports parents and families and is an integral part of the whole church body. The ideal candidate will demonstrate personal dependence on the Holy Spirit, dedication to teaching God's Word, devotion to marriage and family, attentiveness to people in need, and cultivation of spiritual health and leadership potential through Christ-centered relationships. The role is proposed as a full-time, staff-pastor position, requiring adherence to biblical principles for leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in ministry and/or biblical studies
  • 3-4 years of experience leading a youth ministry, preferably as full-time church ministry
  • Licensed or willing to pursue licensing/ordination with The Christian & Missionary Alliance
  • Seeks to spend 5-years or more as Youth Pastor at NRC, or is preparing for candidacy as International Worker
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development and cultural issues
  • Ability to connect with and disciple middle and high school students
  • Proven experience and ability to lead/teach group Bible study
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Effective interpersonal relational and communication ability
  • Proficient in the use of technology and media
  • Proven administrative ability, and/or experience organizing events, camps, or retreats
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and to work collaboratively with a team
  • Submits to a thorough background check.
  • Affirms and supports the mission, vision, and Statement of Faith of North Ridge Church and the Christian & Missionary Alliance.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, lead, and serve a team of Spirit-filled adult leaders (Shepherds), providing pastoral care, encouragement, and mutual accountability.
  • Identify, encourage, and equip student leaders under the direction of the Youth Ministry team.
  • Faithfully teach and preach Scripture to students, and when called upon, to the church body, growing as an excellent communicator of God's Word.
  • Recruit and oversee others to teach, ensuring a well-balanced Bible teaching ministry to youth.
  • Build purposeful relationships with students and their families, intentionally engaging students where they are on their spiritual journey.
  • Provide prayer and encouragement for students and families facing special needs and crises.
  • Create a strategy with the Shepherd team to win the lost, disciple and equip the ready, and send students out as a missional witness.
  • Oversee the development of a well-designed calendar of events and opportunities for discipleship, worship, fellowship, and community building.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with students, parents, team members, church leadership, the church body, visitors, and the community.
  • Organize, plan, and administer youth ministry with a high level of organization, planning, and stewardship, being sensitive to contemporary cultural currents and student well-being.
  • Manage the youth ministry budget, expenditures, and incoming funds with care and wisdom.
  • Maintain personal and relational integrity, demonstrating genuine devotion, faithfulness in marriage and family (as applicable), and purity in all relationships.
  • Embrace the covering and accountability of the Elders and pastoral staff for protection, growth, and mutual flourishing.
  • Serve as a full member of the pastoral staff and governing board, partnering in the mission and leadership of North Ridge Church.
  • Maintain honest, loyal, and loving relationships with the Lead Pastor and Elders, contributing to the team's shared responsibility for prayer, vision, care, and the spiritual culture of the church.
  • Be attentive and available to the needs of the whole Body of Christ, beyond the focus on middle and high school students.
