About The Position

We are seeking an experienced freelance writer with a strong background in nonprofit organizations, social impact, philanthropy, youth development, education, or related sectors. This writer will partner closely with internal thought leaders and communications stakeholders to create high-quality thought leadership content, case studies, annual report content, and strategic communications materials. The ideal candidate is an exceptional storyteller who can transform interviews, executive insights, and content briefs into compelling, publication-ready content. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ghostwriting, interviewing subject matter experts, and helping mission-driven organizations tell meaningful stories. Our client is a respected nonprofit organization based in New York City that works with approximately 90 nonprofit partners to help strengthen organizational capacity, expand impact, and accelerate growth. Through coaching, funding, and strategic support, they empower mission-driven organizations to better serve their communities. As part of a growing thought leadership initiative, they are investing in content that elevates their expertise, showcases partner success stories, and increases visibility among nonprofit leaders, funders, policymakers, and community stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experienced freelance writer

Responsibilities

  • Support annual report content development and other key organizational publications
  • Develop compelling case studies highlighting organizational impact and partner success stories
  • Ghostwrite thought leadership articles for executive and subject matter expert contributors
  • Conduct interviews with internal stakeholders, nonprofit leaders, and partner organizations
  • Translate complex nonprofit and social impact topics into engaging, accessible content
  • Adapt writing style to match multiple contributor voices
  • Collaborate with communications and leadership teams throughout the editorial process
  • Revise content based on stakeholder and editorial feedback
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Deliverable could include: Thought leadership articles, Executive ghostwritten content, Case studies, Annual report content, Website articles, Newsletter content, Strategic communications materials, and/or Social impact storytelling assets
