A Youth Mentor provides guidance, encouragement, and positive support to children and adolescents by building healthy relationships that foster personal growth, emotional well-being, life skills, and community involvement. Mentors work one-on-one or in small groups to help youth achieve individualized goals, develop confidence, improve social skills, and connect with positive community resources while ensuring their safety and well-being. This positions functions under the direct supervision of the SEED Mentoring Supervisor. The work that is performed is a team approach and involves direct knowledge of child developmental milestones. This position is responsible for supervising client activity and ensuring that participation in community or group activities are supervised per the guidelines provided through Children and Youth services to ensure the safety and well-being of the children involved.
