Youth Mentor / Family Teacher (Part-Time)
About The Position
Landmarks for Families is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our Residential Services team as Part-Time Youth Mentors / Family Teachers. In this role, you will help create a safe, structured, and supportive home environment for youth while teaching life skills, building healthy relationships, and helping them achieve greater independence and success. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass required background screenings
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with youth in residential care, behavioral health, foster care, education, childcare, juvenile justice, mentoring, or other human service settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and support to youth in a residential setting.
- Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Teach social, emotional, behavioral, and independent living skills using the Teaching Family Model.
- Help youth develop healthy routines through coaching, encouragement, and positive role modeling.
- Support daily household activities, including meals, chores, hygiene, homework, and recreation.
- Transport youth to school, appointments, and community activities.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Respond to challenging situations using trauma-informed practices and approved de-escalation techniques.
