About The Position

The Youth Housing Support (YHS) position will be the primary day contact person for youth. The goal of the program is to provide housing and support for youth who are MCFD involved. The role of the day staff person is to support youth in a housing setting to settle, manage stressors and potential crisis while supporting to focus on individual goals for the following day. This position will work in a team environment utilizing a holistic approach to support each youth's individual needs around mental health, life skills, community supports, housing and other identified areas. These are four permanent, full-time positions. We are hiring for multiple positions for our awake overnight shift. The position is permanent, full-time, 10-hour shifts from 10:00pm to 8:00am. The hourly wage range is $26.74 - $31.00 per hour dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range. The Awake Overnight position receives an extra $2.00 premium, in addition to the base hourly wage, for working awake overnight shifts.

Requirements

A relevant bachelor's degree, such as Social Work or Child & Youth Care
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working with vulnerable populations and at-risk youth.
Emergency First Aid certificate
Food Safe Certificate
Immunization records, including TB testing
Criminal Record Check, completed by Threshold
Agree and follow our policies and processes

Nice To Haves

Other combinations of education, experience and training may be considered
Experience facilitating programming is an asset
ASIST training and NVCI training is an asset
