About The Position

Honda Center is seeking a Youth Hockey Development Member to join the Anaheim Ducks Fan Development Marketing Department. This part-time seasonal position focuses on supporting and implementing various youth hockey initiatives, including street hockey, roller hockey, and ice hockey, as well as educational events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hockey and a commitment to its growth in Southern California. C.R.E.W. members are expected to be enthusiastic, possess a strong work ethic, work well with others, and positively represent the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club as team ambassadors.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid California driver’s license, automobile liability insurance and a good driving record.
  • Flexible schedule – Must be able to work some nights/weekends and holidays as required.
  • Requires prolonged standing; ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Passion for the sport of hockey and commitment to its growth.
  • Bronze-level (2+ years) ice or roller hockey experience highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with elementary aged students preferred (Camp counselor, coaching, teaching, etc.).
  • Previous marketing/promotional/event experience preferred.
  • Bilingual speakers a plus.
  • Teaching/Adaptive P.E. instruction experience a plus.
  • Candidates medically cleared to work in school-based environments a plus.
  • Youth roller or ice hockey coaching a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation and instruction of the S.C.O.R.E. Street Hockey program, including teaching fundamentals and safety practices at school sites.
  • Loading necessary equipment and directing instruction for street hockey sessions.
  • Implementation and instruction of ice and inline hockey initiatives, teaching fundamentals and safety practices at local The Rinks locations.
  • Gathering equipment, outfitting student participants, and directing on-rink instruction for ice and inline hockey.
  • Assisting with preparations, support, and implementation of i3 Roller Hockey Playoffs and Showcase Game.
  • Assisting with preparations, support, implementation, and officiating of street hockey games and tournaments, including the S.C.O.R.E. Shootout.
  • Assisting with various school-based events, including set up of audio/visual equipment and street hockey equipment.
  • Driving Ducks “Promotional Vehicles” to and from events, ensuring vehicles are stocked, unloaded, and kept clean.
  • Assisting with implementation of S.C.O.R.E. programs: First Flight, Captains Challenge, and Throwback Classic.
  • Assisting with organization and maintenance of Fan Development storage units.
  • Working promotional give-away events at Ducks games.
  • Assisting with other tasks on an as-needed basis.
