About The Position
The City of Lakewood is seeking responsible individuals to officiate flag football and volleyball/volleytennis games. These are limited term, seasonal positions with no benefits. The games take place during the week (in the evenings) and on Saturdays. Officials typically work 6-10 hours per week, up to a maximum of 28 hours. A mandatory introductory meeting and training sessions are required for all new hire applicants.
Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Attend a series of training sessions pertaining to football/volleyball/volleytennis rules and officiating mechanics.
- Pass the required examinations.
- Knowledgeable in the fundamentals of football and volleyball.
- Able to see and hear within normal ranges.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Football officials must be able to run for extended periods of time.
- Submit a certificate documenting that, within the last two years, they have been examined and found to be free of communicable tuberculosis.
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
