As a Program Assistant at Family Resources Inc., you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for youth in our Youth Enrichment Program. Your responsibilities will include engaging with participants in various enriching academic and personal activities throughout the year, particularly in our after-school and summer Community Out of School Time (COST) program. Collaborating with a dedicated team, you will supervise participants, teachers, artists, overlay providers, and volunteers, ensuring smooth program delivery. Your role will be instrumental in communicating with the Site Supervisor and Program Director, guaranteeing that our clients and their families receive the highest quality of service. Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six semester hours of college credits in early childhood or elementary education.
  • Solid understanding of safety precautions and compliance with childcare licensing standards.
  • Previous experience working with at-risk youth in educational settings.
  • Strong sense of urgency and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Optimistic attitude.
  • Knowledge of positive youth development and Community Out of School Time (COST) programming.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Ability to remain calm in emergencies.
  • Capacity to work semi-independently.
  • Strong judgment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to establish relationships across diverse backgrounds.
  • Must have or be able to obtain 40 DCF clock hours in childcare training within 90 days of employment.
  • Background compliant with requirements of the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Department of Children and Families.
  • Valid Florida driver's license, clear driving record and current automobile insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Pinellas County Licensing Board (PCLB) Staff Member in Charge (SMIC) credentials preferred.
