The Youth Engagement Specialist (YES) is responsible for having actual, intentional contact with every assigned youth throughout the course of each shift. This role provides face-to-face support and intervention in various settings, including the Youth Engagement Center, Safe Haven, or Rights of Passage. The YES will assist with documentation, ETO reporting, help youth achieve plan outcomes, and develop collaborative relationships with community partners. This position also involves engaging youth in educational, vocational, and life-skill programming, and supporting engagement activities. Ensuring the safety and security of youth and property is paramount. Responsibilities include performing intakes and discharges, answering phones, assisting with basic needs, and providing trauma-informed services. The YES must be present in young people's lives, especially during difficult times, and commit to personal and professional growth through training. Keeping the supervisor informed and participating in meetings are also key aspects of the role.
