About The Position

Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and youth in Pinellas County. Boley Centers, Inc., a nationally recognized and accredited behavioral health care agency, has an opening for a full-time Youth Employment Counselor Team Leader who will be responsible for providing daily supervision to the Youth Employment Counselors at various sites and ensuring the successful operation of the JWB program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field. No substitutions permitted. Education must be from an accredited school, college, or university.
  • Two to three years of experience working with youth who are at risk and/or emotionally disturbed.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience required.
  • Valid Florida driver's license, own transportation vehicle and insurance required.
  • Must pass a Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of the Youth Employment Counselors (YECs). Also completes reports, oversees employer contracts/agreements and monitors youth files for content.
  • Ensures the YECs carry out all phases of employment services including the intake engagement, assessment, job development, and follow-along support.
  • Ensures the YECs maintain regular communication with employers to monitor participants job performance.
  • Collaborates with YECs to guarantee participant timesheets are submitted for processing within specified time frames.
  • Facilitates outreach, marketing, and employer recruiting efforts; establishes community-based partnerships with private sector businesses.
  • Tracks labor market information, changes in the Florida labor laws and economic trends.
  • Monitors past due accounts and works with the Youth Program Manager and YECs to collect past due payments.
  • Conducts regular meetings with YECs to ensure participants are adjusting to their jobs and determine if adjustments or additional supports are needed to promote retention.
  • Reviews youth files for documentation, compliance, and completion.
  • Reviews data regarding job placement activity and submits reports to the Youth Program Manager.
  • Maintains communication with participants’ families, or designated significant other(s), regarding progress and other employment related matters.
  • Maintains census data and records as required.
  • Operates own or agency vehicle to transport youth and to travel between locations.
