About The Position

Tocal College is seeking a motivated and experienced Youth Education Program Coordinator to lead and coordinate innovative vocational education and training programs that inspire young people and prepare them for successful careers in agriculture. The role is responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality vocational training in agriculture and manages individual programs within its suite of Full-time and Traineeship courses. Through this work, the position builds capability within the agricultural sector, supports a profitable and sustainable agriculture industry, and contributes to the achievement of the strategic priorities of the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD). You will combine excellent communication and relationship-building skills with experience coordinating vocational education and training programs. You will engage and mentor students, build strong industry partnerships, and work effectively with employers, staff and other stakeholders to deliver positive educational and employment outcomes. Highly organised and adaptable, you will coordinate students, staff, resources and agricultural training activities to deliver safe, compliant and industry-relevant programs. You will support student wellbeing by identifying support needs and providing appropriate guidance, intervention or referral to help students achieve their full potential. You will utilise digital learning systems and educational technology to support high-quality training delivery, assessment management, student progress tracking, compliance and reporting, helping drive continuous improvement across Tocal's Youth Education Programs.

Requirements

  • Experience coordinating vocational education and training programs and agricultural training activities.
  • Strong communication, mentoring and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, employers, staff and industry partners.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate people, resources and competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of contemporary agricultural practices, emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • A commitment to student wellbeing, including the ability to identify support needs and provide appropriate guidance, intervention and referral.
  • Confident using digital learning systems and educational technology to support high-quality training delivery.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or the ability to attain within 3 months of appointment.
  • Certificate III in Agriculture or demonstrated equivalency in a range of skills at that level.
  • Current Driver's License and the ability and willingness to travel.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing agricultural machinery and equipment, including maintenance planning, repair scheduling, routine repairs and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of vertebrate pest management programs.
  • Experience using learner management systems such as Cloud Assess to manage assessments, monitor student progress, maintain compliance records and support data-informed decision-making.
