Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates activities within a specific program area, such as education, social recreation, arts & crafts, and physical education. This role focuses on creating an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, promoting program participation, and providing guidance and role modeling to members. The specialist will plan, design, and implement a STEAM program with goals and objectives for youth K-12, facilitating activities like robotics, coding, arts, and digital media. Coordination with external vendors, community organizations, and schools to expand STEAM opportunities is also a key function. The role involves maintaining and tracking STEAM supplies and equipment, promoting youth engagement, and supporting the execution of STEAM showcases. Accurate data entry for member registration, attendance, and participation is required, along with attending trainings and staff meetings. The specialist will manage youth behavior, reinforce club rules, model positive behavior, and foster an inclusive environment. Ensuring program areas are safe, organized, and conducive to learning is essential, as is monitoring and evaluating programs for safety and quality. The role includes preparing activity reports, planning daily and weekly activities, and aiding in the development of new and ongoing activities, special events, and parent nights. Assistance with BGCA National programs and establishing communication links with various stakeholders are also part of the responsibilities. Additional duties may include participating in special programs, driving a Club van, and other assigned tasks.
