About The Position

Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, the Youth Development Professional (YDP) plans, promotes, and delivers high-quality Boys & Girls Club programming for students at Oakridge Public Schools.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must submit three (3) professional references.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, fingerprinting, and reference check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares youth for success
  • Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of BGCA Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Promotes and stimulates daily learning center program participation as well as participation in designated national and special event programs.
  • Orients new members to program area, special events, and opportunities as well as club safety, program and disciplinary rules.
  • Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Works from trauma-informed, equity-based behavior modification support models.
  • Responds to feedback and redirection of leadership as part of our Continuous Quality Improvement guidelines in the moment and without push back.
  • Implements, monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities for members.
  • Monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members and quality in programs.
  • Recognizes Club members for program participation and achievement.
  • Maintains records to track attendance and participation.
  • Maintains Meal and Snack (CACFP point of service and clean up (if applicable).
  • Foster positive behavior management by establishing and consistently modeling club norms and expectations with youth.
  • Ensures a productive work environment by participating in club leader meetings.
  • Monitors supply needs.
  • Keeps supplies neat and orderly.
  • May help with special programs and/or events.
  • Consult with parents concerning member and Club issues.
  • Assume all other duties as assigned.
