The Youth Development Professional (YDP) is a part-time, hourly position working with youth to provide hands-on delivery of daily in-house programming, including social recreation, team-building activities, and fostering an environment for positive relationships. The YDP is responsible for assisting with the development and operation of the after-school program, creating a welcoming and safe environment for members, and aligning new members to program areas, special events, and opportunities. The role involves supporting assigned program areas by monitoring member behavior, providing instruction, and engaging with members and parents. The YDP develops and delivers a range of programs from the game room to teen activities, arts and crafts, the food program, low organized games, outdoor activities, special events, before school program, summer program, and group clubs. YDPs must demonstrate passion for positively impacting children's lives, the ability to maintain firm boundaries, accountability, follow-through, multitasking skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to capture children's attention. They should use a creative perspective to guide children in making good life choices.
