About The Position

The Lakeland Hills Family YMCA is looking for enthusiastic Dance Instructors to lead fun, engaging classes in Bollywood Dance and/or Broadway Dance for children and families. Whether you're bringing the vibrant energy of Bollywood or the excitement of the Broadway stage, you'll help participants build confidence, creativity, coordination, self-expression, and a lifelong love of the performing arts.

Requirements

• Experience teaching, performing, or training in Bollywood dance, Broadway dance, musical theater, or a related discipline.
• Experience working with children or families preferred.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and comfortable leading a group.
• Creative and confident in teaching choreography.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented.
• Passion for helping others discover their creativity and confidence.

Responsibilities

• Lead energetic, engaging, and age-appropriate Bollywood and/or Broadway dance classes.
• Teach choreography, rhythm, movement, and foundational dance techniques.
• Create fun routines that encourage creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
• Adapt activities and instruction for different ages, abilities, and experience levels.
• Create a welcoming environment where beginners and experienced dancers feel comfortable participating.
• Encourage teamwork, positive relationships, and a love of performing.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive class environment.
• Communicate effectively with participants, families, and YMCA staff.
• Maintain a clean and organized program space.
• Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Participate in required YMCA trainings, meetings, and special events as needed.
• Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
