About The Position

This position involves planning and teaching youth in at least two different types of dance classes, utilizing your dance experience and education. The instructor will interact with and encourage children to participate in activities, teach and model appropriate techniques and skills, and communicate effectively with students in a patient, friendly manner. The role requires the instructor to be a positive role model.

Requirements

Must be 18 or older
CPR/AED/First Aid from one of the following certifying organizations: American Safety & Health Institute, American Heart Association, American Red Cross
Knowledge and expertise in dance
Ability to communicate effectively to youth participants and their parents/guardians.
Ability to plan, lead and participate in dance activities.
Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
Ability to see and supervise children.
Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper dance techniques

Nice To Haves

Experience as a dancer
Interest in teaching dance to children
Experience teaching others to dance
