Supervises youth in well planned structured recreational activities; field trips and workshops. Interacts with school districts, service organizations, community churches and law enforcement agencies. Establishes contacts with higher education and trade schools. Assists with Mental Health Substance Abuse Services and life skills development services. Assists youth with overcoming barriers to education opportunities. Develops avenues for admissions and financial aid in higher education institutions. Builds business and youth relationships and social capital. Mentors youth and provides educational help and tutoring. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • 1 year of job related experience.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the public and other employees.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines and the ability to prioritize own work.
  • Requires valid Texas Driver's License.
