About The Position

The City of Stoughton, an equal opportunity employer, is seeking a dedicated Youth Center worker who will serve as a positive role model to help support, lead, and encourage young people. You will have the chance to form lasting relationships and encourage positive behavior to promote the overall welfare of participants. This is a position that truly matters and you will have the chance to play a role in helping our City’s youth to lead better lives. This position is Monday- Friday with a total of approximately 15 hours per week. The hours are from 3 - 6 pm during the school year and from 12 to 3 pm in the Summer. It requires a responsible individual to at times unlock the building, help with cleaning, and enforce rules while modeling positive behavior. It also requires excellent communication skills, the ability to pay attention to detail, the ability to solve problems quickly and responsibly, and the ability to perform these duties while using good judgment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a background check & drug screen
• Must have good communication skills
• Must be able to troubleshoot
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be reliable and timely.

Responsibilities

• Unlock and open the building doors.
• Be sure that all rules are being followed.
• Be sure there is no use of tobacco and/or possession of alcohol or illegal substances.
• Contact the appropriate authorities in the event of an emergency.
• In the event of an incident or injury, be able to write a report to be turned in to Human Resources & Risk Management.
• Help with cleaning.
• Enforce rules while modeling positive behavior.
