Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field, along with experience working with children, youth, families, or vulnerable populations.
  • Four years of directly related professional experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job will also be considered.
  • Valid Driver's license required

  • Experience working with justice-involved or at-risk youth
  • Experience in residential treatment or behavioral health settings
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation training
  • Counseling, mentoring, or case management experience
  • Strong documentation and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to youth in a residential treatment setting
  • Facilitate treatment groups and skill-building activities
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct interviews and assessments to gather information related to treatment planning
  • Maintain case records, progress reports, treatment documentation, and classification information
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with therapists, educators, case managers, and facility staff
  • Monitor and support youth participation in educational, vocational, and treatment programming
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor to youth
  • Communicate with families, guardians, Juvenile Service Officers, attorneys, schools, and community partners
  • Assist with discharge planning, transition services, and treatment recommendations
  • Supervise recreational activities, outings, and structured programming
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for youth and staff
