About The Position
Methodist Home for Children is seeking a full-time Youth Care Worker for its Transitional Living Home in New Bern, NC. These group homes serve teens who are on probation but cannot return home safely from a youth development center or other residential placement. Referred by juvenile court counselors, they stay for six to 12 months, working to finish school, identify career goals, get a job, volunteer, earn a driver’s license, and learn to budget, cook and manage bills.
Requirements
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma and experience working with youth.
- Must maintain a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
Responsibilities
- Implementing direct treatment services through use of the agency's model of care.
- Providing residential care services.
- Working with adolescents, families, volunteers, and community representatives in the youth home and community settings.
