About The Position

The Rite of Passage Team is hiring a Youth Care Worker at The Oaks Academy in Brownwood, Texas. This is a new, all-girls program where strong role models are needed to provide services and mentorship. The Oaks is a secure post-adjudication facility that provides comprehensive services to young men and women (13-17) using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender-responsive model. The facility offers rigorous education, positive skill development, individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, group, individual, and family therapy, on-site schooling, individual dorm rooms, and extracurricular opportunities. Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Be at least 21 years of age
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry

Responsibilities

Provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility.
Provide for the physical, personal, and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development.
Provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs.
Monitor and document behaviors and activities.
Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.
