Youth Care Worker - 3rd Shift
About The Position
The Youth Care Worker I is responsible for providing a variety of direct care services to residents, assisting professional staff in the implementation of individual treatment plans, and ensuring the effective operation of the residential program. This role involves teaching and monitoring behaviors and skills according to individualized treatment plans using the Psycho-Educational Model (PEM), modeling appropriate relationships with youth and staff, and teaching meal preparation and living skills. The position also requires monitoring and maintaining a safe living and learning environment for youth, attending to their medical/physical conditions, and assisting in the preparation of various youth summaries and reports. Additionally, the role involves processing documents for youth intake and departure, participating in Safe Crisis Management as needed, updating youth files, and participating in shift transition meetings, staff meetings, and daily feedback sessions. A key responsibility includes transporting youth to and from campus for various activities and appointments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-3 months related experience and/or training
- SCM certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Valid driver's license

Responsibilities
- Teaches and monitors behaviors/skills according to individualized treatment plans using the Psycho-Educational Model (PEM)
- Models appropriate relationships with youth and staff
- Teaches meal preparation and living skills
- Attends consultation meetings
- Monitors and maintains a safe living and learning environment for youth (e.g., bed checks, recreational activities, educational activities, etc.)
- Attends to youths' medical/physical conditions
- Assists in the preparation of youth summaries and reports (e.g., clinical summaries, behavioral report cards, discharge summaries, incident reports, etc.)
- Assists in processing documents for youth intake and departure
- Participates in Safe Crisis Management as needed
- Updates youth files
- Participates in shift transition meetings
- Attends weekly staff meetings and daily feedback sessions
- Transports youth to and from cottage/campus to school, appointments, and outings
Benefits
- $18.00 per hour plus $3.00 per hour shift differential
- Additional pay based on Residential Experience and/or a Bachelor's degree
