COACH COUNSELOR
About The Position
Alachua Academy is comprised of multiple co-located residential commitment programs serving moderate risk females youth aged 12 to 18 who require behavioral/mental health and substance abuse services. The programs utilize evidence-based practices to provide comprehensive care, treatment, and supervision. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling, while at the program. Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
- Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.
Responsibilities
- Provides in-person safety and security around the clock.
- Provides for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual mentoring and skill development.
- Provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs.
- Monitor and document behaviors and activities.
- Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
- Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.
