About The Position

Child Crisis Arizona is seeking Bilingual Youth Care Workers for their Emergency Shelters. The role involves direct supervision of youth, ensuring a safe and secure environment, and fostering their emotional well-being. Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines such as food service, housekeeping, recreation, and rest. The position also involves overseeing transitions between activities, facilitating learning and behavioral management, and assisting with admissions and discharges under the direction of a Shift Supervisor. The role requires utilizing agency-established behavior management protocols to support youth and build essential life skills.

Requirements

  • Spanish/English bilingual capabilities
  • Ability to work five, 8-hour shifts (morning/afternoons) each week or four, 10-hour shifts (nights) each week. Flexible schedules will be considered based on the needs of the program.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent and be at least 21 years of age
  • One year of experience supervising, nurturing, and meeting the basic needs for youth
  • Multi-tasking skills that will support proper documentation and note taking in a fast-paced environment
  • A clean five-year motor vehicle history and a valid Arizona Driver’s license.
  • A level one fingerprint clearance card or the ability to obtain one prior to starting

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of the youth in the agency's care.
  • Providing a safe and secure environment where youth's emotional well-being can flourish.
  • Assisting in the youth's daily routines including food service, housekeeping duties, recreational and play times, and appropriate rest and relaxation.
  • Overseeing safe transitions between different activities.
  • Fostering an environment that facilitates learning and behavioral management in a supportive manner.
  • Assisting with the admissions and discharges of the children under the direction of a Shift Supervisor.
  • Utilizing agency established behavior management protocols and procedures.
  • Supporting the youth and assisting in building essential life skills.
