About The Position
OhioGuidestone is seeking dedicated Youth Care Specialists to join their growing team. This role involves providing out-of-home care for boys and girls with complex trauma, mental health needs, academic struggles, and severe emotional and behavioral concerns. Staff work in tandem with placing agencies and caregivers to transition youth back into permanent living situations. OhioGuidestone has a 162-year legacy of care and aims to provide pathways for growth, achievement, and lifelong success.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years’ experience working with high risk/at risk youth, corrections or mental health population required.
Nice To Haves
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Social Work, Criminal Justice Youth Development or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of adolescent development, crisis intervention, trauma informed care preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide out-of-home care for youth with complex trauma, mental health needs, academic struggles, and severe emotional and behavioral concerns.
- Work in tandem with placing agencies and caregivers to transition youth back into permanent living situations.
- Empower Ohioans served annually across school-based, juvenile justice, and substance use recovery programs.
