About The Position
This position occurs from Early-October to Mid-November. Instructors are responsible for teaching the basic skills and knowledge of Basketball. Participants learn basic fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting through fun interactive games and drills. Program meets Mon-Thurs in the evening hours (5:15-7:15) and 2 Saturdays (8:30a-3:30pm) the last 2 weeks of program (Nov. 14 and Nov. 21).
Requirements
- Must have knowledge of the sport of basketball
- Must be able to demonstrate proper techniques to participants
- Must enjoy working with young children
- Energetic, outgoing and positive attitude at all times
- Must be outgoing and able to lead
- Required age is 18 and older
Nice To Haves
- Prior coaching and/or playing experience
Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans as provided by Directors
- Instructing small groups of children (5-8 players) ages (5-9)
- Demonstrate basic skills and help showcase skills to participants
- Enforcing program rules
- Care of supplies and equipment as provided by NPRD
