About The Position

The Greenville Recreation & Parks Department (GRPD) is currently recruiting Youth Athletics Site Attendants. This position will set up, clean up, oversee, and ensure league and park rules are being properly enforced using rule knowledge and consistent judgment. This position will work with other personnel to maintain a safe environment for participants and perform other miscellaneous duties.

Requirements

Minimum Age: 18 years old, at the time of application
First Aid/CPR certification (required within 60 days of hire)
Must be able to lift and/or carry more than 50 pounds
This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Knowledge of: league rules and the Greenville Recreation and Parks Department policies and procedures.
Skill in: respectfully answering questions regarding policies and procedures.
Ability to: establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to: work in a timely manner and start, stop, and maintain the scheduled game times.
Ability to: recognize and resolve conflict, identifying discipline problems and properly documenting the situation.
Ability to: communicate effectively orally and verbally.

Responsibilities

Arrive thirty minutes prior to scheduled game time with necessary equipment
Organize equipment and set up playing fields to ensure games start on time
Check the playing area for any safety hazards and address hazards that may occur; report issues immediately
Maintain league and park rules
Remain unbiased and avoid verbal confrontation
Break down fields, pick up trash, and complete the necessary paperwork at the end of each shift
Monitor and promote the sportsmanship of participants, spectators, and co-workers
Display respect for staff and the facility while providing exemplary customer service and leadership
Review and reference the policies and procedures of the Greenville Recreation and Parks Department and the league to remedy situations effectively
Perform other duties as assigned
