About The Position

This role focuses on providing direct patient care and support within a medical-surgical department. The Youth Apprentice Certified Nursing Assistant will assist patients with daily living activities and personal care, ensure smooth patient transitions during admissions and discharges, monitor and report changes in patient condition, accurately document patient care, and maintain a clean and organized environment. This position is part of a Youth Apprenticeship program.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Nurse Aide credentialed from the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Current enrollment in High School and qualification in the Youth Apprenticeship program per School requirements is required.

Responsibilities

Support patients with dignity by assisting with daily living activities and personal care, ensuring they feel comfortable and respected throughout their stay.
Facilitate seamless patient transitions by coordinating safe arrivals and departures, creating a welcoming and organized experience from admission to discharge.
Monitor and communicate vital changes in a patient’s physical or emotional state to the nursing team, serving as a critical "early warning" advocate for patient safety.
Document every step of the patient care journey with precision to ensure the clinical team has the high-quality data needed for informed decision-making.
Maintain a healing environment by managing room cleanliness and equipment readiness, allowing the medical team to focus entirely on life-saving care.
