About The Position

The Unaccompanied Refugee Minors (URM) Youth and Family Specialist II provides culturally sensitive intensive case management, outreach and direct service to Unaccompanied Refugee Minor Program's youth in coordination and cooperation with systems including: school personnel and educational teams, therapists, lawyers and court personnel, the general public and intra-agency collaterals. The URM Youth and Family Specialst II is the primary advocate for the child and initiates creative approaches to service delivery and activity that will help the youth achieve their potential working toward connection with a permanent resource and long term life plan.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • 2 years experience of postgraduate direct service delivery experience.
  • Skills assessing and treating at risk children and families and/or expertise with individuals with developmental disabilities and co-occurring challenges.
  • Minimum of LSWA certification or eligibility to obtain certification within six (6) months of date of hire.
  • Ability to work within the Mission of the agency.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to utilize independent sound clinical judgement and decision making with regards to best interest of children and families.
  • Must successfully complete all required background checks before starting employment.
