About The Position

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, staff will assist with program planning, implementing, and evaluating services. Provides direct supervision of Youth Advocates and Youth Advocate Assistants. Leads the direct care team in guiding the residential routine, providing supervision and behavior intervention with youth, and managing the activities of daily living. Work with Clinical Team to ensure behavior management is addressed and monitor the implementation of the recreational and behavioral schedule by program staff. Provides administrative support necessary for the operation of the program. Works cooperatively with the Program Manager to ensure administrative tasks are completed timely and accurately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with experience in residential care, preferred. Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with adolescents required without Associate’s degree or higher. Experience working with adolescents required.
  • Demonstrates high cultural competency and sensitivity when engaging with diverse populations.
  • Maintains current certifications in Medication Administration, CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention.
  • Proven background in counseling, with a specialized focus on adolescent populations.
  • Skilled at fostering collaborative and productive professional relationships with team members.
  • Exhibits exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven track record of working autonomously with a high degree of precision.
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record consistent with agency standards

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Youth Advocate/Youth Advocate Assistants
  • Evaluate and develop Youth Advocate and Youth Advocate Assistant staff. Provide regular individual and team supervision. Conduct regular observation and coaching.
  • Oversee program implementation by Youth Advocate staff to ensure quality standards.
  • Manage and conduct training sessions for Youth Advocates.
  • Develop shift schedules and approve all staff timesheet activities.
  • Participate in and manage the on-call rotation program.
  • Hands-on support, behavioral intervention, and daily resident life.
  • Provide active supervision of residents.
  • Provide behavior management, de-escalation, and passive restraint techniques when necessary.
  • Supervise residents through daily routines using Behavioral Modification practices.
  • Counsel residents on life skills, social interaction, self-care, and personal hygiene.
  • Supervise and assist residents with the self-administration of medications.
  • Drive residents to court, professional appointments, and community activities.
  • Guide resident involvement in recreational and creative arts therapy.
  • Maintain timely documentation in accordance with state and accreditation requirements, including supervisory documentation, training record, program records, and resident records.
  • Manage youth supplies and inventory.
  • Manage bed check reports.
  • Compile statistics on resident performance and behavior for supporting documentation.
  • Manage the Communication Log and extract calendar appointments for shift updates.
  • Serve on staff committees and maintain strict confidentiality and productivity standards.
