About The Position

Eliot is seeking compassionate, service-oriented Youth Advocates to work in a staff-secure setting for court-involved youth, ages 13 to 21 within our Juvenile Justice residential network. This position offers a unique opportunity to positively impact a youth’s life by providing patient, supportive care and mentorship. The role is multifaceted, encompassing advocacy, skill building, care coordination, education and role modeling. You will work as part of a dedicated team to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team of professionals inspiring positive change in the youth we serve.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or related experience
  • Experience working with youth
  • Valid Massachusetts drivers license

Responsibilities

  • Use principles and practices of youth development and trauma informed care to create a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity
  • Foster the youth’s skills and interests and mentor their positive development.
  • Implement program activities that are safe and foster personal growth and healthy choices
  • Promote responsible and healthy decision-making among youth
  • Implement applicable safety and emergency requirements including use of crisis prevention and de-escalation skills
