About The Position

KVC Health Systems is seeking compassionate, reliable, and energetic individuals to join our team as a Youth Advisor. In this vital role, you won't just be supervising youth—you will be a mentor, a teacher, and a positive role model. You will help create a safe, trauma-informed environment where children and families can heal and grow. As a Youth Advisor, you are the heart of our daily operations. You will build trusting relationships with youth, helping them develop essential life skills and guiding them through their daily routines. This role does not have guaranteed hours, but the individual will have the opportunity to pick up shifts as needed to assist with call-offs, vacations, training coverage, and other staffing needs. The number of hours can vary from week to week based on program needs and the employee's availability, making it a great option for someone looking for flexibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class E driver’s license with a good driving record (able to transport clients).
  • Strong customer service focus and excellent time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field.
  • Previous experience working with children and families in a trauma-informed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a mentor, coach, and teacher for youth in our program.
  • Guide youth in daily activities like budgeting, meal prep, personal hygiene, and maintaining a clean living space.
  • Supervise and participate in recreational activities like hiking, soccer, basketball, and camping.
  • Maintain a safe environment by knowing where youth are at all times and staying alert during all shifts.
  • Assist youth in meeting school and employment obligations and attending therapy sessions.
  • Work closely with the clinical and case management teams to support each youth’s treatment plan.
