About The Position

BOOST is a fun, high-energy recreational and academic, social program at the Southern Tier Community Center (STCC). The program gives youth access to the gymnasium, fitness equipment, college visits, community resources, and a variety of engaging activities. We're looking for employees who enjoy working with youth, bring patience and enthusiasm, and are committed to helping kids grow both in and out of the classroom.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • 2 years of experience working with youth preferred.
  • Experience in event programming and coordination preferred.
  • Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in human services, psychology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing programs for youth ages 13-21.
  • Following all New York State safety guidelines.
  • Having a broad knowledge of racial/social justice.
  • Being proficient in educational, recreational, and life skill activities.
  • Working collaboratively with STCC / CHWC staff and community partners to carry out the program goals and objectives.
  • Assisting in supervising and ensuring the safety of youth enrolled in the program.
  • Conflict Management.
  • Active engagement in all activities and programs.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current best practices in Positive Youth Development.
