About The Position

This is a summer internship position with Young Life, specifically for the YoungLives program. The internship runs from June 15, 2026, to August 15, 2026. Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith and adhere to its Christian purposes of evangelism and discipleship. Interns are expected to minister as servants of God, proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, and abide by all Young Life policies and practices. The role involves various aspects of ministry support, including summer camp logistics, pre- and post-camp gatherings, mentor support, fundraising support, spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry (contact work, club, Campaigners, camp), and general ministry support (accounting, administration, communication, data management).

Requirements

  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Age 18-26, according to grant requirements.
  • Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
  • Must subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith.
  • Must be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions.
  • Must refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life.
  • Must abide by all policies and practices of Young Life.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with summer camp logistics.
  • Support pre- and post-camp gatherings.
  • Provide mentor support.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts.
  • Engage in spiritual development activities, including prayer, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, and church relationships.
  • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within a parish community.
  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
  • Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership regularly.
  • Learn how staff recruit and train new volunteers.
  • Learn and model excellence in Young Life activities such as contact work, club, Campaigners, camping, and committee.
  • Develop a greater understanding of personal calling, giftedness, and ministry as a vocation.
  • Assist staff in communicating ministry updates and progress with donors.
  • Observe and learn to network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community.
  • Actively engage in contact work with students and adults.
  • Help lead a team to plan and conduct a Young Life club and Campaigners ministry.
  • Help lead a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
  • Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism in office hours, dress, conduct, and time management.
  • Manage finances with stewardship, accountability, and transparency.
  • Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors for area records.
  • Provide clear, prompt, appropriate, and professional communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Actively engage in training provided by local area leadership to learn and gain competency in ministry skills.
  • Become familiar with area strategy and ministry health.
