About The Position

Auberle’s mission is to help build strong individuals, families, and communities. The 412 Youth Zone is located in downtown Pittsburgh. The program provides comprehensive, welcoming, and youth driven services and support to young adults transitioning out of the foster care system or who are experiencing unstable housing. Act as the primary point of contact for staff seeking guidance on responding to youth experiencing mental health challenges, emotional distress, or behavioral concerns. Provide early intervention and crisis support to youth presenting with mental health concerns by utilizing de-escalation techniques, offering emotional support, and coordinating appropriate referrals or emergency interventions when necessary. Build and maintain relationships with community mental health providers, facilitate referrals, and support youth in accessing counseling, psychiatric services, and other behavioral health resources. Support youth by providing transportation to appointments, services, and other approved activities as needed. Utilize conflict resolution strategies to address interpersonal challenges and maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive drop-in center environment.

Requirements

  • Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and experience working in the mental health field required. Other combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health conditions, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and community behavioral health resources.
  • Valid PA Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Requires travel to youth homes and throughout the community.
  • Requires working varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
