YAS Coach - Torrington
About The Position
The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Young Adult Services (YAS) Coach to join their team in the Torrington, CT area. This role involves providing intense, one-on-one support to consumers identified by the Western CT Mental Health Network Torrington Office Young Adult Program. The goal is to assist these individuals in assimilating into their community, understanding their rights, and adhering to the responsibilities of independent living. This position operates under a joint collaboration between CHD and The Western Connecticut Mental Health Network (WCMHN) Torrington Office Young Adult Program.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Registered & insured vehicle and approved driving record check
- Approved criminal background check (CORI)
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with psychiatric disorders or co-occurring population preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide intense, one-on-one support to consumers.
- Assist individuals in assimilating into their community.
- Help consumers understand their rights and responsibilities of independent living.
- Actively support the philosophy of the Agency.
