About The Position

Provide oversight and supervision to the YESS (Youth Employment Support Services) Program offered by CCTT in Tioga County, supporting youth in the region with social-emotional skill building, post-secondary readiness and promoting inclusive conversations around identity and community. Staff will follow school schedule.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in social sciences, human services, psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Valid NY State Driver License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • A minimum of three years’ experience with working with at risk youth.
  • Supervision skills preferred.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
  • Willingness to foster agency, department and program wide cooperation and team- work through use of positive/constructive communication techniques.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality of all records reviewed including consumer records, employee records and billing records.
  • Ability to work in the following software programs: Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple online software platforms as required by funders and partner organizations
  • Analyze and interpret data and to handle problem resolution.
  • Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier.
  • Continuous use of a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices, in conformance with all state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Provide effective, equitable, understandable, and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy and other communication needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises YESS Coordinators, including but not limited to all aspects of hiring, evaluating, and promoting ongoing staff development, providing immediate and ongoing recognition and feedback on each employee’s job performance.
  • Is responsible for the YESS program at designated schools.
  • Provides the school district, Department of Social Services, Executive Director with a monthly report.
  • Reviews and approves the YESS Coordinator’s monthly report.
  • Develops monthly calendar of activities and approves YESS Coordinator calendar.
  • Establishes smart goals that are specifically designed according to each individual student’s needs.
  • Provides family guidance and support, opening communication between home and school.
  • Minimizes barriers that interfere with or impede school performance.
  • Ensures that youth are accessing programs and services that are available to them, advocating when needed.
  • Works with the finance team on the vouchering process and submits to DSS.
  • Keeps track of all program grants and expenses.
  • Writes grants and participates in grant activity with the grant writer.
  • Organizes activities and field trips to enrich experiences outside the classroom areas of academics, career and community services as well as rewards for goals achieved.
  • Attend all staff meetings and other catholic charities functions.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
