Our specialized Claims and Underwriting teams are highly experienced, allowing us to be experts in the industries we serve. We believe our expertise is second to none. Great American is one of the leading carriers with a dedicated Property & Inland Marine Division and, in the industry segments it covers, with expertise second to none. From the underwriters to claims representatives, the focus is strictly on property and inland marine coverages. The team has an average of 19 years of industry experience, and is dedicated to writing only these coverages, which include: Commercial Property Coverage, Inland Marine Coverage, Builder's Risk, Contractor's Equipment and Motor Truck Cargo. We are currently looking for an Underwriting Support Intern for our Property & Inland Marine Division.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in such areas as business administration, finance, economics, statistics, communications, or risk management and insurance
  • An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be available to work up to 40 hours in the summer and 15-20 hours while in school.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfilling requests for underwriting reports from across the country
  • Administrative assignments
  • Data entry
  • Participation with special projects, as assigned
  • This internship will provide the intern with the opportunity to develop an understanding of underwriting guidelines as well as policy language.
