About The Position

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, has opportunities for Yards at our Gibbon, NE plant. This role involves a variety of tasks to maintain the yard and surrounding areas, ensuring cleanliness and operational efficiency. The position is not intended to be all-inclusive, and employees may perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures: warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts.
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job.
Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
Must be able to successfully complete training: Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food defense.

Nice To Haves

Prior maintenance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork or poultry facility.
Prior production experience.
Work history in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

Empty trash trailer.
Bail cardboard.
Deliver chemicals and lubricants.
Clean off inedible dock in the morning and afternoon.
Pickup trash in the guard shack, front of plant, maintenance shop, maintenance office, truck shop, boiler room, engine room, rendering office, and pens.
Empty chemical barrels in racks.
Break down combos, dispose of trash, bail combos, gather pallets and take to pallet wash.
Perform trolley rebuilds, cutting board resurfacing, and barrel fan repairs.
Mowing, weed-eating, and weed control.
Assist with snow clean up, ice control, and equipment for snow removal.
Perform yard cleanup.
Fill spray barrel and jugs for pens.
Pick up shredded paper from the office for disposal.
Put production supplies away in the offal dock.
Unload equipment and material trucks as needed.
