About The Position

Finning Canada is seeking a Yardperson/Warehouse Person to join their team in Edmonton, AB. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a commitment to excellent customer service, and a dedication to maintaining a safe work environment. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) months of operating experience with rough terrain forklift, counterbalance forklift, Large forklift (>30,000 Lbs.), and/or operating construction equipment.
• Class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions; successful driver's abstract required.
• Solid understanding of rental equipment and sufficient mechanical skills to perform or recommend minor equipment repairs.
• Strong organizational skills with good attention to detail.
• Committed to a safe work environment and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be considered fit for work due to the physical nature of the job.
• Must become a member of the Union associated with this position.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads company trucks.
• Inspects equipment prior to shipment and upon return for serviceability.
• Notifies the shop foreman of any damaged or missing equipment.
• Assists rental counter personnel in selecting "rental ready" equipment for transactions.
• Processes equipment returns and closes rental contracts.
• Performs equipment inquiries using the company’s computerized programming.
• Verifies fuel consumed and inspects all details of equipment upon return.
• Installs service tags on equipment returned from rental.
• Moves rental-ready equipment to proper storage areas following routine maintenance procedures.
• Presents ready-to-rent equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Performs general housekeeping of both the warehouse and yard.
• Greets customers in the yard and directs them to the office or unloading areas.
• Assists customers and delivery drivers in loading and unloading rental equipment.
• Provides customers with start/stop and general operating instructions on rental equipment.
