About The Position

Yard Workers are important members of the Star Nursery team. They are responsible for unloading and stocking all new plant material in a safe and efficient manner. They provide general plant upkeep & quality control and work outside in the yard area of our stores.

Requirements

Effective and relevant work experience in lawn and garden center industry or equivalent honest and hard working
Must be able to work long hours (seasonal overtime available) in all types of weather conditions
Must be able to lift & move plant material
Must be able to pass a drug test (safety sensitive position)
Authorization to work in the United States
Forklift experience (will train and in- house Certify for 18+ years of age)
Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan in short/ long term ranges
The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional
Strong ability to interact in a positive manner with varying types of customers, both retail and commercial
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong team player
Commitment to company values
Ability to follow directions as well as work independently to achieve goals and complete assigned tasks
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
