About The Position

Ocean Steel, a member of the OSCO Construction Group, is seeking a Yard Worker to join their team. Founded in 1955, Ocean Steel specializes in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, as well as manufacturing and installing platework. The company operates two plants in New Brunswick and serves markets including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. This role involves supporting various operations within the steel shop and yard.

Requirements

• Completion of high school
• CSA approved steel toe boots

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in structural steel fabrication shop considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Load and un-load trucks in both shipping and receiving ends of the plant
• Use overhead crane to move steel and organize the yard
• Locate steel pieces for Machine operators, Fitters and Welders
• Pick up debris to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Working in all weather conditions
• All around help in the steel shop when needed
