About The Position

The Yard Worker provides prompt, courteous and efficient service to contractors and customers entering the lumber yard. The Yard worker also works to ensure accurate product loading directly into customer vehicles or works with Logistics to coordinate shipment of products direct to job sites. This is a full time position, rain or shine! Applicants for this position should be prepared to work weekend shifts.

Requirements

High School diploma
Basic hardware, lumber & building materials knowledge
Customer service experience
Above & beyond customer service attention
Some safe equipment operation experience
Willing to learn and keep up-to-date on product knowledge
Able to lift heavy materials (up to 50lbs) to or from the yard, placing them on or removing them from trucks, pallets, etc.
Able to work weekends & outdoors

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of current industry trends and pricing, local building codes
POS system experience or other computer database systems & computer literate
Sales training and or education
2-3 years lumber & building materials experience
Forklift certificate (valid)
Construction, Physical labour, warehousing or farming background
