Yard Worker
About The Position
The Yard Worker maintains fence, sanitation, power, and storage equipment in clean and operational condition, depending on the product lines assigned to the region. The role ensures that equipment leaving the yard meets National Construction Rentals, Inc. quality standards and assists with loading and unloading materials from company vehicles. The position also involves cleaning, repairing, and servicing equipment and vehicles; maintaining inventory and maintenance records; preparing portable toilets for delivery; and keeping the work area safe and tidy while following safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work from detailed instructions and occasionally make independent decisions.
- Task-oriented and proficient at following detailed instructions.
- Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record within company guidelines.
- Must be at least 21 years old because the position may require driving a company vehicle.
- Forklift certification; certification will be provided after hire.
- DOT medical card.
Responsibilities
- Clean, repair, and ensure proper rolling and stacking of fence materials in the yard.
- Maintain the cleanliness of fence, sanitation, and storage equipment; conduct repairs and apply paint.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and servicing vehicles used for fence, sanitation, and storage operations.
- Operate steam cleaners, forklifts, and air tools safely and proficiently.
- Immediately report accidents or incidents according to company procedures.
- Maintain and update inventory logs on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis as required.
- Document maintenance and repair work completed each day.
- Empty and clean portable toilets in preparation for delivery.
- Keep the work area safe and tidy and follow all safety protocols.
