Yard & Washbay Attendant
About The Position
The Yard & Washbay Attendant washes construction equipment, receives and stocks shelves, and power washes other equipment. The role requires a service-minded, customer-focused individual with strong attention to detail who can multitask in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Experience in or around the construction industry is desired. The position also involves cleaning returned rental equipment, maintaining the organization and housekeeping of the warehouse and yard, assisting customers with equipment pickup and returns, and completing janitorial, building maintenance, and other tasks as directed by the Rental Manager. The attendant helps ensure a safe work environment for customers and employees.
Requirements
- Prior work experience in or around the construction field.
- Experience in a warehouse environment using forklifts.
- Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all levels of an organization.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a high level of complexity.
- Results- and process-oriented approach.
- Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Strong customer service orientation and flexibility to meet customer needs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, write, and understand policies, procedures, contracts, and detailed correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to inquiries from customers and employees.
- Excellent listening skills and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, including word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and outdoor environment and perform routine walking, talking, sitting, standing, and seeing.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Tolerance for some exposure to cold, heat, noise, fumes, and dust.

Responsibilities
- Clean returned rental equipment, including power washing.
- Maintain housekeeping and organization in the warehouse and yard.
- Assist with customer pickup or return of equipment as requested by the rental counter.
- Perform janitorial duties, building maintenance, and miscellaneous tasks directed by the Rental Manager.
- Help ensure a safe work environment for customers and employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Rental or Branch Manager.
