About The Position

The essential responsibilities of the Yard Associate include receiving, labeling and storing incoming shipments, maintaining accurate inventory counts and ensuring proper shipment of goods. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Warehouse experience preferred but not required.
• Highly productive and a strong team player who works with a sense of urgency and hands-on-approach.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Basic computer proficiency for inventory / transactional purposes.
• A positive attitude, a proactive approach, and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading shipments from delivery trucks and transporting merchandise or construction material into the yard and store.
• Operating hand trucks or forklifts for loading and unloading packages.
• Ensure materials are securely loaded and properly balanced on trucks prior to a driver’s route delivery.
• Manually lift and move materials weighing 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
• Dispose of trash and maintain the cleanliness of the yard, keeping high traffic areas free of debris and equipment.
• Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles.
• Perform and document routine inventory counts and submit inventory levels to the Sales Manager when requested.
• Complete other tasks as needed when directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
