About The Position

US Foods is seeking a Yard Jockey to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of operations by moving trailers between buildings, staging them for drivers, and ensuring all equipment is ready for the next day's deliveries. The Yard Jockey will work closely with dispatchers, warehouse supervisors, and mechanics to ensure smooth operations. Requirements

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift
• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions
• Ability to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience preferred
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments
• Keep assigned equipment coupled
• Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor
• Load, unload, or merge loads between environments
• Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers
• Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
• Place backhauls in correct door to be unloaded by warehouse
• Make sure all equipment is paired and ready for next day's deliveries
• Work with mechanics nightly
• Attend all required company meetings
• Perform all other duties as assigned
